Below, are the Jewels now
officially worn as part of the Masters Regalia. (Please note, some images and
information still to get)
From the left, we have the Past
Masters Jewel, this belonged to Past Master Bro. Alistair Chisholm, who was the
first Master to be able to call Lodge Burns Dundonald his Mother Lodge, being
among the first group of five Brethren to receive their degrees.
Next, the Founder Members Jewel
belonged to Bro. Charlie McWhirter, a founder member of our young Lodge and
member of Lodge Ayr St. Paul No. 204.
Third, is a Past Masters Jewel of
Lodge Dunoon Argyll No.335 which belonged to Past Master Bro. Archie McNicol who
was also a founder member of Lodge Burns Dundonald, and our first, probably our
best Lodge Secretary.
These three very talented and
well loved Brethren were, and still are sadly missed, and when their Jewels were
handed in to the Lodge, it was unanimously agreed that they form part of the
R.W.M.'s regalia as a mark of respect and tribute, also at our installation
ceremony every year, the retiring Master presents these jewels to his successor
and gives a full explanation of the significance of these jewels to the new
R.W.M., and the Brethren of the Lodge.
